Rebecca + Tom {glimpse}

The day of Bec & Tom’s Wedding arrived in a rather wet downpour, but that was certainly not how it ended!

As Sam and Ceri travelled up to the Hunter Valley from Sydney, they received a call from a very excited Tom. “Don’t worry about the rain”, he said, “I have been out shopping and got gumboots for the whole bridal party, including a bright red pair for Bec!”

Bec, fondly known as Red, had stayed at the beautiful cottage at Lillians on Lovedale  the night before and was quite upbeat, despite the wet weather, as she got ready for the day with her bridesmaids.

Tom on the other hand snuck a teeny bit of dutch courage as he eagerly waited at the cute sandstone Peppers Creek Chapel for his lovely bride to arrive in a cherry red vintage Dodge car.

It didn’t take long for the chapel to fill with all of Bec & Tom’s friends & family. As Tom’s grandfather officiated their union, Bec & Tom were joined by their cute as a button son, Frankie, who looked very dashing in his converse shoes, suspenders & tie.

There were one or two sets of wet eyes as Tom & Bec declared their love for one another, but they were soon dry as the shoes came off & the gumboots went on. The bridal party had a bit of fun in the vineyards before heading into the Barrel Room for all the festivities.Tom certainly showed all of the guests his “fantastic” dance moves 😉

However what brought a smile to our faces and reminded us what the day was all about, Tom & Bec’s Love, is this
beautiful song that Tom wrote for his gorgeous wife Bec about their day.

THE GUMBOOT SONG by Tom Moran

the palms of my hands feel like a waterfall

im so nervous that im not sure if i can stand at all

its a shame that the rain came out today

but i guess it gives us puddles so we can play

when i look at you it’s like i just forget

that when we walk out together we will both get wet

and though the sun’s going down and its getting hard to see

your shiny red gumboots will lead you back to me

and i cant dance to save my life

so too bad for you your my wife

so i’ll dance like a fool until the sun comes up

or until my feet have had enough

so put on your gumboots  and jump into the rain

cause last night my life was better changed

so take off your dress and let your hair down

and in the puddles jump, jump around

and i love you and your red gumboots

all that you are and all that you do

and when you say i love you

i know that you do
