Louise + Gavin {e-session}

Almost a year ago Ceri met Louise in Far North Queensland while working within the Aboriginal communities of Cape York. They very quickly clicked over their shared love of photography and Indigenous affairs.

Through regular emails, phonecalls & during Louise’s visits to Sydney for work, the friendship has grown. It was such a great honour when Louise asked us if we would be the wedding photographers for Gavin & her wedding up in Darwin in July later this year. Needless to say we jumped in with both feet and said YES to capturing this awesome couple’s love story.

Gavin & Louise live up in Darwin in the Northern territory where Louise has an amazing pallet of scenery to take her landscape photos (Check out some of her amazing landscapes here – http://createevoke.com.au/ or on Facebook here – Create Evoke Photography) and Gavin has plenty of open ocean & waterways to zip around in their boat. We can’t wait for them to show us around in a few months.

Back in January, Louise let us know that she was going to be back in Sydney for work. With the Sydney Festival taking place & having the Australia Day long weekend available, she decided to bring Gavin along for the trip. There was a lot of excitement as we planned all sorts of things for our first face to face meeting with Gav and it was very quickly decided that we would have an e-session with them that weekend.

During the early days of their love story, Lou & Gav had spent 9 months having a long distance relationship between Sydney & Darwin and grew to love their weekends together exploring Sydney. Also both Louise & Gavin are very passionate about Indigenous affairs &  have both done a lot of work in communities around Australia. This made Redfern the perfect location for us to have an urban walkabout afternoon with them. It was so great strolling around  the neighbourhood of the “Block”, taking some street photography and a having  bit of an engagement shoot on the side.

After a bit of photo fun in the back alleyways we headed out to Centennial park for a little picnic and some night photography in the light garden, where Louise captured Anton “diving” through Gavin.

It is fun, loving couples like Louise & Gavin that help us remember just how lucky we are to do something we love with people we really like!Louise + Gavin engagement sessionLouise + Gavin engagement session

Gavin is pretty used to Louise’s photo habit. 🙂
