Natalie + Simon {glimpse}

We love capturing the wonderful memories of all our fantastic couples, but every now & again, there is that one couple, who really capture our imaginations and take us on a spectacular journey of excitement as they plan their day. This was most definitely the case with Natalie & Simon, fondly known to their friends as Nat & Simo.

Natalie, an event organising extrordinaire, runs her own business Eventzen and moonlights as the Karaoke Queen of Darlinghurst (this lady has a voice that just has to be heard to be believed – Spectacular!). Simon is one of Sydney’s hottest DJs, spinning as DJ Simo and running StickyFloor Productions (Make sure you get to one of their Mardi Gras PINK vs BROWN parties at least once!).

On Saturday 15 December, 2 hours out of Sydney in the hilltops of the Blue Mountains we found ourselves bearing witness to a spectacular union many years in the making under the Turpentine tree. Nat’s makeup & hair were expertly done by the quirky & fabulous Lucy Topp. Her beautiful birdcage hairpiece was handcrafted by Cindy Lim. Nat looked just amazing in a dress aptly named “Santorini Rose” by Maggie Sottero. Simo had proposed to Nat in Santorini a year earlier and so the dress was another just one of many serendipitous connections that adorned the day of Love, Music and Partying.

The couple, before sharing their own vows, made all the guests take a solemn vow to take off their shoes that day to feel the grass beneath their feet, play in the garden and last, but most definitely not least, get down and party to the end of the night as befitted the day’s theme of “Until Death Do Us Party”.

Til death do us party

In true Nat style, she picked her sister Steph & her friend of over 28 years, Georgia as her Bridesmaids, the gorgeous Jason as her Bridesman, the frivolous Matt as her Flower Guuurl & the flamboyant Martin Feathers as the Ring-bearer. Simo, having a fantastic group of great friends, decided not to settle for a single Best-man, but an of army of Best-men. This was the only way these two crazy kids could ever be given to each other.

There was no need for any further encouragement to the guests and the night kicked on with breakdancing, the robot, a camera that was thrown around and at least one broken chair. The next morning at around 6am, just as we were rising, we saw a few of the guests stumbling through the fields chasing the cows whilst trying to find their accommodation. You know it was a great party when even the the cows are yet to come home! 😉
